Job Introduction
Within the College of Technology (CoT), the BBC Academy supports Future Media and Technology & Distribution with training covering a wide range of skills in software development and delivery. This is achieved by making use of a portfolio of external training companies, freelancers and internal trainers. Formal face to face training is supplemented via articles, screencasts and video’s on the Academy website, through events both large and small and via the use of online training materials and resources.

Role Responsibility
You will be responsible for supporting the programme manager of software development in ensuring that that we deliver the best possible service to our delegates and deliver value for money training that meets the constantly evolving needs of the BBC.
Working closely with the Programme Manager for Software Development, this role is an essential part of delivering world class training for Future Media and Technology and Distribution at the BBC.

The Ideal CandidateA demonstrable keen interest in technology and IT. There will be opportunity to learn more about the subject matter and an inquiring mind is encouraged.Experience of working closely with delegates and third party suppliers.The CoT has to manage the training requirements of a large number of internal departments with a varied and changing list of suppliers. Excellent planning and organisational skills and an ability to cope with change that reflects the nature of the modern technology and engineering practices, that the CoT supports is vital.The successful applicant will demonstrate diligence and attention to detail to maintain a broad programme of training. You will be responsible for maintaining records of the current training courses and helping to project future training courses.An understanding of SAP and financial management to support the programme manager with budget allocation and spending tracking.A creative approach to improving and maintaining the presence of Software Development on the BBC’s academy’s intranet site. A can-do proactive approach to building and creating web pages and online resources to facilitate the best experience for our users in the BBC. Experience using Content Management Tools and managing websites are blog pages would be beneficial.A positive approach to dealing with third party suppliers. Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a good relationship and at the same time ensure that we get the maximum service and value for money.The ability to work effectively under pressure, to the highest professional standards while maintaining excellent rapport with the business.Demonstrates energy, enthusiasm and resourcefulness.Works flexibly, responds well in the face of ambiguity and deadlines, and embraces continuing change.Well developed IT skills including experience of using project planning software, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and SAP
