Role Responsibility
Based in Tokyo, you will select relevant features and background material from the BBC News websitehttp://www.bbc.com/news/, check and edit the text once it has been translated into Japanese, and publish it on a new, Japanese language BBC site. You will develop and co-ordinate the BBC’s social media presence in Japan, especially on twitter, Youtube and facebook. And you will work with partners in Japan to build the BBC’s digital presence and audiences.
The Ideal Candidate
Substantial journalistic experience in Japan is essential, together with fluent Japanese and excellent English language skills. You will have a detailed knowledge of social media, industry trends and emerging technologies and a good awareness of community management and compliance issues relating to social media and user-generated content. With a broad knowledge of international affairs – in particular, the Asia-Pacific region – you will have an understanding of how social media and user-generated content is used in this region.

Within the College of Technology (CoT), the BBC Academy supports Future Media and Technology & Distribution with training covering a wide range of skills in software development and delivery. Role Responsibility
