Davey,

This might be awful, but do remember that it's not actually illegal to offer some of these roles for no pay. The cases on the Sweat Team board deal specifically with those roles that must, by law, be paid at least the NMW. Anyone who is in a position to negotiate their own pay is free to offer their services for nothing if they want to, but junior roles such as runners and all those who would normally be PAYE are not free to make that decision, and neither is the employer.

Other calls for unpaid workers we post in the 'Numpties' section, because it's crass and stupid, but not illegal...

Yes, it appears quite terrible but if one would also like to be specific this is not from “London Town” as it is the title of the film.

That is correct -London Town is the title of the film it was originally called The Endz

I guess skills, talent and experience has got no value these days.

Has this industry become like TESCO, the next time you come in you bill will be lower. buy 1 get 1 free?? Surely this site is to stop people form being exploited.

Yes, but people who are able to choose what to charge can stop themselves being exploited by not taking these jobs.

The people really being exploited are those without the marketable skills who are led to believe that working for free is the only way in to this industry.

And it is also about what the National Minimum Wage Act and the HMRC say must and mustn’t happen.

Davey - you need to read up on this a bit.

It applies to all 'Workers' but not everyone is classified as a 'Worker' in the eyes of the law.

Thanks Uncle,

Could you tell me where I could find some info as this seems like a grey area.

I take it that freelancer are not workers since they can choose when they want to work take half day off, go home early or what time to show up for work or not since they have a choice.
