Shantelle Rochester is a UK based Film Producer who works through her company Ida Rose. Her most recent production is a film called Stolen.

Seldom has a film title so accurately described its modus operandii as it appears that numerous freelancers who have worked on this production have now been left unpaid. Stolen pay indeed.

Filming concluded one year ago and, despite constant requests from those left out of pocket, nothing has been forthcoming in terms of hard cash for the crew.

At first, Shantelle was full of promises but as the months went on, communication slowed to a trickle and then stopped. Of payment, there has been none and she now ritually ignores any emails or messages asking for updates.

A sorry tale, but not one which would be entirely surprising to those who have worked for her on previous productions, where she was less than scrupulous in her care to pay the minimum wage to junior members of her crew.

According to her website, over the years Rochester has gained “extensive experience with budgets, business and financial structures” which she now offers to those who might wish to purchase this expertise.

Future customers may wish to bear in mind the complete inadequacy she displayed when it came to using that “experience” to pay the freelancers she owes money to from their work on this production. A record which does not inspire much in the way of confidence.
