2 Free courses in ACES and DaVinci Resolve Finishing

Here’s a great offer, from Soho Editors in association with ScreenSkills: two free courses. They are:

1. A 1-day Live Online course covering ACES for a VFX Pipeline.

This Training Programme is to support 36 experienced VFX Artists, Cinematographers, DITs and Post-Production Supervisors from across the nation looking to work with ACES Guidelines and Specifications withing VFX Projects and workflows. If you are a successful candidate, you will receive:

  • One-Day Live Online ACES Colour Management training from an Industry Experienced Certified Instructor.

  • Indefinite unlimited access to the course recording for you to revisit and follow along at your own pace.

  • Training Material for you to keep.

  • Training in The Academy Color Encoding System Workflows using DaVinci Resolve.

This funding will also assist with Childcare costs if needed to ensure each awardee receives the best training possible.

How to Apply

Whom It's For

The aim of this training programme is to support experienced VFX Artists, Cinematographers, DITs and Post-Production Supervisors who have a basic knowledge of post- production techniques at an Early, Experienced or Expert career stage throughout the nation. Therefore, you must be in one of the below positions:

  • Currently a Cinematographer, DIT or Post-Production Supervisor in a VFX, Colourist or Online Editing position working within the UK VFX Industry at an Early Career Stage

  • Currently a Cinematographer, DIT or Post-Production Supervisor in a VFX, Colourist or Online Editing position working within the UK VFX Industry at an Experienced Career Stage

  • Currently a Cinematographer, DIT or Post-Production Supervisor in a VFX, Colourist or Online Editing position working within the UK VFX Industry at an Expert Career Stage

And, you must:

  • Have at least one Broadcast TV Credit

  • Be currently residing within the UK

  • Have the right to Work within the UK

  • Have an Established Connection to the UK Industry

  • Be of 18+ Years of Age

2. A 2-day course in the company’s central London Classroom covering DaVinci Resolve finishing for Avid Online Editors.

This Training is to support 15 Online Editors from across the nation looking to transfer their Online Editing skills to Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Studio. If you are a suitable candidate, you will receive for FREE:

  • 2 Days Hands-On DaVinci Resolve Training from an Industry Experienced Certified Blackmagic Design Instructor.

  • Training on a DaVinci Resolve Micro Panel.

  • A full license for the latest version of DaVinci Resolve Studio for you to keep.

  • Training covering Industry workflows used by professional DaVinci Resolve Online Editors.

  • This will also cover travel, accommodation, childcare and disability costs for the duration of the course.

  • Have at least one Online Editing credit OR prove you are working to start Online Editing

  • Be currently residing within the UK

  • Right to Work Within the UK

  • Have an Established Connection to the UK Industry

  • Be of 18+ Years of Age
